 Meet Monica C. Smith

 

"I've done deals from The Hamptons to Hawaii."

 

Monica C. Smith has had over a 25-year career in the Commercial Real Estate Industry. She has a proven track record negotiating multimillion dollar deals in the Retail, Office and Industrial Sectors of the industry. She has closed hundreds of deals in 45 states in Super Regional Shopping Malls, Urban Neighborhoods, Strip Centers, Outlets, Power Centers, Office Buildings, Warehouses, Land, Mixed Use Projects, Commercial Developments, CBD’s, and Seasonal Street Retail.

 

She began in corporate real estate working for a shopping mall developer and owner in the Midwest. Over the course of her career, she has worked for global and national corporations such as, The Children's Place, Bridgestone, L&H Real Estate, and General Growth Properties (GGP) - now Brookfield Properties, in Asset Management, Director of Real Estate, Portfolio Management, Property Management and Project Management roles.

 

She has a diverse background having worked for large retail companies, major shopping mall owners and developers, and in brokerage. She is known as a creative negotiator who is results oriented, and has successfully managed billion dollar portfolios. She has managed and led 400-store, 600-store, and 800-store+ retail store portfolios. Her career deal sheet includes the following retailers: Chuck E. Cheese, Vineyard Vines, L'Occitane, Ann Taylor Loft, Build-A-Bear, Talbots, Hot Topic,  Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, Firestone, GCR, The Children's Place, Tomoko Shima Hair Salon, and Gap. 

 

Monica holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management, Marketing, from Purdue University. Monica's states of licensure are Georgia and New York where she holds Broker Licenses in each state. One of Monica's noted contributions to the industry, is her role as the original founder of The Diversity Reception, held at the Las Vegas ICSC. Monica will also launch her first book in 2022. Originally from the Midwest, Monica now calls the Atlanta Metro home.
